Mummy's birthday was
yesterday, but we're making the entire weekend a celebration of our
Mummy!
This morning the
celebration included a hike up near the top of Independence Pass.
Even though we have only
hiked there once before with the boys, and it was many weeks ago,
as we pulled off the road
Alex shouted "Pooh Sticks, Pooh Sticks!" He remembered: the
hike
begins with crossing a
bridge over the Roaring Fork River. We play Pooh Sticks by throwing
sticks off one side of
the bridge and then waiting for the sticks to emerge on the other
side...
Then we hiked off into
the woods!
Along the way we found a
Most Excellent puddle which cried out for exploration!
Then we found a tree
trunk. Alex decided that he might be a tree...
When Jeremy climbed up on
the stump we asked him if he was a tree.
He said: "No! I'm a boy!"
(We still think he looked
like a tree)
Jeremy showed us a baby
tree he found.
He gave the baby tree a
very nice cuddle. The tree didn't seem to mind too much.
At the end of every good
hike we celebrate with MsyM's!
Yummmmmmy!
We played silly games at
the picnic table...
And then Alex put on
Daddy's sunglasses, just to show us how cool he really is...
Smooth, oh my!
