When we return home from
Hollywood, the last of the aspen leaves are turning yellow
and town is deserted for the autumn
off-season.
The Silver Queen Gondola has closed
down until the start of ski season.
But there is still time for hikes up
to Maroon
Lake before the first snows of winter arrive.
October also means time for long
leisurely strolls around the empty town, the last Farmers' Market of the
year, a few final warm late afternoons to sit outside on the patio at Zélé's
drinking ice tea.
It also means quiet lazy times on the
living room couch.
