How many people does it take to change a light bulb in Aspen?

Four.  One to change the bulb and three to talk about how much better the old bulb was.

This weekend we got together with Gilbert to talk about how much better it was when he still lived here.

We had dinner one night at the Sundeck; we hung out and chatted; Gilbert visited old friends. Oh yeah, we also went skiing. And that was the best part -- it was just like the good old days.

On Saturday morning we cranked up the 2003 "Driving to Snowmass" CD and headed off for Alpine Springs, the Big Burn, and Sam's Knob.

We skied the bumps on the Powerline until our legs gave out and it was time for lunch.

Of course not everything stays the same when you move away. Gilbert remembers when the toilets at Sam's Knob offered a little more privacy...

Down at the base of Wood's Run it seemed like spring had already arrived.

But there is still more than a month left in the ski season, and Gilbert promised to return before the snow is gone. We hope he does!
