 One of our favorite hikes in Aspen is from Maroon Lake up to Crater Lake, at the foot of the Maroon

 Bells. It is often our first hike in the spring (sometimes even before the snow has melted in the pass)

 and our last hike in the fall (even after the winter's snows have arrived).
