We know Atlanta must have its attraction (after all, a lot of people do live there). But what is it about

the magnetic pull of that attraction that kept our pals Nick and Michelle from coming to visit us until

a full year after our wedding??

Whatever that pull, we were mighty glad when a big blue rental car pulled up in front of our house,

and out stepped Nick & Michelle!

one evening we headed off to Maroon Lake...

Skidmore College alumni meeting.

...where the setting sun casts amazing shadows.

At the beaver lodge...

we waited for the floor show to begin.

We didn't have to wait long.

That evening there was wildlife everywhere!

Katherine, in fact, ran off with an elk.

But the Resort Art was not impressed by any of the excitement.

On a warm afternoon we hiked up Smuggler Mountain to the high alpine valley of Hunter Creek...

There was an evening at the rodeo down at Snowmass...

And we had lunch at the Sundeck on top of Aspen Mountain with Gilbert and his evil twin...

The only question left unanswered after the most-excellent weekend is: will we be able to get Nick &

Michelle to break free of Atlanta's powerful magnetic force field to come visit us again in winter???
