This morning Mummy & Daddy
asked us if we wanted to go to the Popcorn Wagon for lunch
and then watch the Wintersköl
Parade through town. We said HOORAY!! and raced for the door!
Our pal Suzzzie came with us.
First stop was to admire the Wintersköl snow sculptures.

A giant snow fort had been
built all the way around the Popcorn Wagon. We thought
that was Very Cool! We went
inside the Fort and had hot dogs & fries for lunch!

Then it was time for the
Parade!
When Jeremy saw a float with
one of the new gondola cars which the SkiCo will be
installing next summer, he
shouted: "Look Alex, it's our new Gondola!

Alex was surprised to see a
giant Boot going past on the back of the truck.
Our favorite part of every
parade in Aspen is the old steam calliope from the Miners'
Building. It is Very Loud, so
Yankee Bear scrunched down a bit inside Jeremy's jacket.

Then the best thing happened.
In the distance, around the corner, we heard drums.
And bugles. And trombones.
Jeremy said it sounded like The Music Man.
We looked up the street
waiting to see what was going to come around the corner...

And then we saw it: the
marching band from the Air Force Academy down in
Colorado Springs. HOORAY!!! A
marching band!

We were fascinated with all
of the instruments (especially the Drums!)

What a great morning!
