One of our favorite December events in Aspen is the insane 24 Hours of Aspen ski race: skiers race
non-stop from the top of the mountain down to town from noon one day to noon the next. We
rode up the gondola in the middle of the night to cheer the racers on at the top of the mountain.

A racer starts down the course from the gondola station.
Not a racer.
Kara (in red jacket) was the timer for the start of each lap.
A racer snaps back into his skies at the start of another lap.

A chilly spectator cheers on the racers.
Riding back down the gondola in the middle of the night. (brrr)
